Question: James Emiliani- Who makes ART like this? More importantly, who buys and hangs it on their wall?
about an hour ago via mobile

Answer: Jim Kosior to James Emilani.. The same people that watch anything about 9/11; on tv, internet, and or material that they purchase on DVD. People who want to have a reminder of what happened on that day.. (for personal; very different reasons.) Even those folks that were too young to remember that day have positive things to say about these, because they are all caught in the wake from that day, and have a strong connection. These impressions from that day are the most respectful with concerns for everyone.. As a print; framed in a special place, it gives a moment to reflect upon; not only that day. .but the years after, that State, and foreign policies were altered from its impact.. Those are the people.. and I am the one that has this important resource available.. You're welcome. jim kosior

Answer: What is ART? Is it a pretty sunset? Is it a lonely soul pictured sitting in a train station? It is many things.. it is in life's experience, and interpretation of it. . It can make you feel sad.. it can make you feel joy.. It can cause you to think.. It can provoke.. It can be a catalyst of change.. It can be a filtered view of a dreadful event.. Direct stimuli; such as with high definition photos, can be way too much.. but if rendered in a medium, that creates distance, and buffers the graphic macabre.. it can be cathartic.. which is the aim of these impressions.. jim kosior

Re-membering Tuesday-Morning-in-September 9/11/2001. The title goes pretty deep. This phase of the 'Tuesday Morning in September' project, I'm pretty satisfied with. The images that are now available from 9/11; what I captured, are presented in such a way.. that you have never seen before. I was not influenced by any other work, to bring this aspect of my project to fruition. I worked from actual still-frames, that I extrapolated from the over two hour chronicle that I captured on 9/11/2001: 'Tuesday Morning in September'. (which is available on dvd) The goal was to stay with the atmospheres; remembering and injecting as much about that day, as possible with atmosphere. Since I lived this experience, and have spent so much time with the material since then.. I was able to operate continually in the zone.. There was nothing happenstance about the way that these images were rendered. (except one.. that I'm not going to even tell you about, hoping that you might go through them all, and figure it out) They're multi-layered.. for some, a flood of memories will be evoked.. but not the same way that other more graphic material stimulates.. I've never gone for stirring-up harmful emotions, but instead hoped for something in the realm of cathartic.. and always keeping with the truth, in the most respectful way possible. I didn't put my work out there; like a child, hoping for approval.. I made a living as an illustrator.. I was considered pretty good at what I did.. With what I've done with these impressions, either you like it, or you don't. . I'm not in competition with anyone, or any other material from 9/11, for some sort of ephemeral fame, and or ego based endeavor.. I do want to make available something unique; something true to that day.. I am confident.. (that being said)..that any-one of the impressions, that you look at on my site, are worthy of your time, and even being framed and shared on display.. I've even made some suggestions for matting and framing.. Those galleries that are framed, are only examples.. they're not in high resolution; albeit, they're all available, and listed, in high resolution. These actually are mixed media, just not the type of mixed media that one thinks of when mixed media is mentioned. There is nothing substandard about any of these pieces. Anyone that would scoff at how I created any of them is pretty shortsighted, even obtuse. I had a beloved instructor that I was studying with when computer graphics were just coming into being.. So many people were not giving the medium respect.. I asked Mr. Zona.. Gerald.. I asked him what he thought about it all.. He told me; in the most enthusiastic manner.. that we should rejoice; embrace it, because now we would be free from the labor involved in the mediums that we were enslaved. He further went on to say.. that now we would be free to create, like never before, to communicate with imagery like never before.. He was right. It's the ideas, it's the creativity.. the communication of ideas, in whatever medium you choose to express yourself.. I was an illustrator.. using all sorts of medium in renderings.. Nothing compares; to what is available in the instant, results that can be manifest, with computer graphics, Photoshop.. I have respect for the honed talents of a virtuoso watercolor artist.. and or someone that put hours into a rendering with pen and ink.. but nonetheless with anyone that can accomplish the same in minutes.. It still comes down to the vision of the artist. Then; there are the choices, that are made in order to accomplish bringing into fruition, what that vision is.. Perhaps there; it could be said, is the genesis of genius.. It is the choice vs the laborious time spent in rendering.. If you can achieve the same result as your vision, in an instant.. how much more genius is that.. Anyone that questions the value of this work, keep that in mind.. Let's strike another chord.. The chronicle that I captured, and released: 'Tuesday Morning in September', is certainly worth your time and money to get on dvd, and watch in its entirety.. in an environment that is conducive to an experience with it. It is not only the most complete continuous running chronicle, to ever surface.. but is the only natural paradigm as well.. It is not a production.. It is an as-if-you-are-there-experience. The news coverage on 9/11, is of the state controlled media reporting on what was happening.. covering it from all different angles, with authority figures commenting on, and directing speech about what was going on.. and how we should talk about it. That's about as far from a natural way; as compared to how we experience life, that you can get. Consider getting a dvd of: 'Tuesday Morning in September', and find out for yourself what I mean by it being the only natural paradigm reference. I've made it available in its raw, pristine state.. and please share these images, and consider having one or more of them framed, displayed, shared... You may even want one of the distinctly different sequential galleries. They are the most complete sequenced galleries from a single source and vantage, available.. Thank you, jim kosior

More, but said.. before, when I made an announcement on the Facebook page of 'Tuesday Morning in September'..
About the renderings being done from the documentary.. I was going to wait, until someone discerned, some of these moments captured and frozen in time, from this piece; this documentary. However; I am afraid.. that it would take a long time, if ever, they were discovered. I wanted to share some of them now. . There should be something, in the galleries for everyone. Some of the impressions, may be too harsh for you.. while other people, will have an entirely different opinion about them. None of them; are any where near, as graphic as, what was broadcast, day after day, week after week.. on and on. . from 9/11.. Rendering these moments.. in a medium such as pastels, tempera, and or other media, gives way to view, and reflect without a direct stimuli; the directness, such as of an actual still photo.. It may be that..some.. of these impressions; will help, in the ongoing process of healing, from that traumatic day, that.. was not at all limited to those, in the NYC area, DC, or Shanksville. There is no real way to measure, how deep the assault was / is... to those outside of the 9/11 - three. The authentic story on dvd of: 'Tuesday Morning in September', is a close and personal experience from that day.. but it is also a step away from the scene. It can be like a cathartic experience, going through it with someone, not only someone with you as you watch it, but.. you're with the one who captured it, me.. and it really comes to grips with that day, outside of the hyper-media reporting of it. Albeit; they did what they thought was best... in the only way that they know how to handle any news situation unfolding...but.. we do not experience life, like the way that the media reported on 9/11? We see things in life, from one perspective.. a moment happens once.. not repeated over and over and over again, from every direction. . while having one authority figure after another, telling you what to think... Telling you what they know; that you should know, before you think.. about what you are seeing. While all along; also reporting, that there are missing planes.. that could fall out the sky. . on top of you, at any moment. 'Tuesday Morning in September', gives you a natural experiential lens.. to re-experience that day through.. in such a way, that allows you to think for yourself, and of course, what you remember about that day, from whatever experience you had of it.. There is nothing but this account, that gives you that opportunity. Yeah,.. it may do a lot of good, for some.. in that vein of thinking. This project.. may be one of the most respectful concerning those who perished that day.. and likewise; for their loved ones, they left behind. This is not a graphic account. It is not a Ground Zero experience. It has much more in common with most everyone outside of there that day.. I'll continue to build upon the renderings; the frozen impressions, captured from that day, in this account. It is one of the aspects of this account, that I have tried to communicate.. My background was in graphics; audio/visual.. along with other vocations, and life experience..that render this story from that day.. For some, it comes through when they watch the documentary. I have a complex of experience that gives this documentary. . this video chronicle, of the attacks, something unique, and I hope.. enduring as an authentic, pristine, visceral communication tool, going forward, from.. that day. Thankyou, jim kosior

Tuesday Morning in September * Created from still-frames taken from the, real-documentary: 'Tuesday Morning in September'. 'Tuesday Morning in September', is available on dvd. It is the most complete, continuous running; real-time, wtc attack chronicle.. that has ever surfaced, from 9/11. It is; however, much more than that. It is a story. .captured from that day, outside of the media, reporting-on-9/11, experience. A rich; multi-layered, multi-faceted, natural experiential paradigm. It is an, as if you are there.. like experience. A one of a kind.. Consider getting your dvd of this rarity, and at least something from out of the impressions from it. Thank you, jim kosior
